As many of you know I accepted a job to work at the Monterey Project Office (MPO)! I still work for the US Army Corps of Engineers, just a new location. I arrived late Sunday 9 Sept. after a long drive from Las Vegas. If I were you I would be asking "Why did Nancy go the long way?" I had a conference in Las Vegas on Saturday and Sunday so I drove South instead of going West! The conference was good and I was on my way to Monterey at about 1:00 pm. Dang construction, it took me a while to get out of Nevada but all was good!
I arrived late Sunday night so I did not really see anything as I came into Monterey, CA at that point all I wanted was to see my bed aka Embassy Suites! I still had to unload my truck and get settled into bed I finally got to bed at about midnight! I started work on Monday morning at 8:00 am. I tell you thank goodness for maps on the ipad! What did we do before GPS and smartphones etc. Technology all I can say is that I am grateful for what I had available. Anyway I was able to make it to work and get acquainted with my new coworkers! It was a great morning and then for lunch I went to eat and this is what I saw!
It was such a beautiful day! I also had an awesome crab salad that was just so fresh and so delicious I was just a very happy camper.
I will be working in the MPO but I will also have work at Camp Roberts and also Fort Hunter Liggett. both of these bases are located South of Monterey.
I was able to go on site on Thursday and visit the job sites that I will be working in the Presidio in Monterey. I was talking to one of my coworkers and he said "turn around!" I did and this is what I saw!
On the last picture you can see the fog coming in! Needless to say I don't think I am going to complain when I have to go visit the Presidio!
I want to get one of these:
No not the mini van or the work truck! I thought it was a cool.....
Well I made it to the weekend and I have been invited to go to an Oktoberfest party at a coworkers house! I will go for a little while.
I had a great week and LIFE IS GOOD!
